There's something about an emerald that stops you mid-scroll.
Maybe it's the depth of color — that saturated green that manages to feel both ancient and completely modern. Or maybe it's the way a pear-cut stone catches light from every angle, elongating the finger with a shape that's equal parts classic and unexpected.
Either way, if you've landed on this page, you're probably not looking for ordinary. Good. Neither are we.
Why a Pear Shape Emerald?
The pear cut — sometimes called a teardrop — is one of the most flattering shapes in fine jewelry. It combines the brilliance of a round cut with the elongated elegance of a marquise, creating a silhouette that looks larger than its carat weight suggests.
When you pair that shape with a vivid green emerald, the result is a ring that commands attention without trying too hard. It's the kind of piece people notice from across the room and ask about at dinner.
What makes the pear shape stand out:
- Creates the illusion of a larger stone
- Elongates the finger for an elegant profile
- Offers versatile wear — point up for tradition, point down for a modern twist
- Pairs beautifully with diamond side stones for added brilliance
Our Three-Stone Design: Meaning Meets Craftsmanship
Our Pear Emerald Engagement Ring features a vivid pear-cut lab-grown emerald center stone flanked by two brilliant lab-grown diamond side stones — a timeless three-stone arrangement that symbolizes your past, present, and future together.
Every ring is handcrafted to order in your choice of 14K or 18K white, yellow, or rose gold. The diamond side stones are graded and sourced to our exacting standard — D-E color, VS-VVS clarity, and Excellent cut — so the sparkle beside your emerald is genuinely brilliant from every angle.
A quick, honest note on certification: in fine jewelry, independent IGI or GIA certificates accompany a qualifying solitaire center diamond. This design's center is a colored gemstone — a lab-grown emerald — and its small diamond side stones are accent stones, which (as is standard across the industry) are not individually certified. What you can count on is consistency: every accent diamond we set meets the same Irdoja quality standard, and we're always happy to walk you through the specifics.
The details that matter:
- Center stone: Vivid pear-cut lab-grown emerald
- Side stones: Round brilliant lab-grown diamonds, graded to D-E color, VS-VVS clarity, Excellent cut
- Metal options: 14K or 18K white gold, yellow gold, or rose gold
- Setting: Secure prong setting with handcrafted gallery
- Made to order: Allow 3-4 weeks for delivery
14K vs. 18K Gold: Which Is Right for You?
This is one of the most common questions we hear in our showroom, and the honest answer is — both are excellent choices. It comes down to your lifestyle and preferences.
14K Gold contains 58.5% pure gold mixed with stronger alloy metals. It's more durable for everyday wear, slightly more accessible in price, and still carries that warm golden tone. If you're active or work with your hands, 14K is a smart choice.
18K Gold contains 75% pure gold, giving it a richer, deeper color that's immediately noticeable. It's the standard for high-end jewelry worldwide. If you prioritize that luxurious warmth and deeper hue, 18K is worth the investment.
At Irdoja Diamonds, we don't charge a premium for the upgrade. Both options are priced fairly because we believe the choice should be about preference, not pressure.
Why Lab-Grown Diamonds?
The diamonds flanking your emerald center stone are lab-grown — and they're identical to mined diamonds in every way that matters. Same carbon crystal structure. Same fire and brilliance. Same hardness on the Mohs scale. The only difference? They're created with intention rather than extracted from the earth.
Choosing lab-grown means:
- 40-60% less than comparable mined diamonds
- Sustainable and ethical — no displaced earth, no sourcing concerns
- Certified to standard — graded by the same criteria used for mined stones; an independent IGI or GIA certificate accompanies a qualifying center diamond (this design’s center is an emerald, and small accent diamonds are not individually certified)
- Greater value — invest in a larger or higher-quality stone for the same investment
This isn't about cutting corners. It's about making a smart, modern choice that lets you put more into the stone and less into the markup.
Complimentary Engraving: Make It Yours
Every Irdoja ring comes with complimentary engraving — up to 20 characters inside the band. A date, initials, a word that means something only to the two of you. It's a small detail that transforms a beautiful ring into your ring.
